The Role of Substantive Rules in Protecting Copyright

Copyright is a special nature of rights that combines a personal nature، represented by the moral rights of the author، which entitles him to publish the work and attribute it to himself، and the right to modify and withdraw it as he sees fit، and a material nature، represented by the financial rights of the author، which entitles him to exploit and benefit from the work. This special nature imposes the existence of unified objective rules that establish direct solutions that serve the author’s interest to protect his right and preserve his intellectual output. It is better for them to appear alongside international agreements regulating these issues instead of relying on scattered rules in national legislation.
